Professional Experience

After returning to India, Dr. Valooran worked with high-volume centers such as Southern Headquarters Railway Hospitals in Perambur, Chennai, where he started performing beating heart coronary surgeries. He played a key role in establishing a successful Cardiothoracic unit at General Hospital, Ernakulam, which became the first State-run District Hospital in India to perform cardiac surgery. His team at General Hospital, Ernakulam initiated an active off-pump CABG program and performed minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.
